Pharmacy technicians at this grade level may be assigned as a supervisor; lead technician in a particular area of the pharmacy; a controlled substance technician; an investigational drug technician; a procurement/inventory management technician; a clinical pharmacy technician; or similar assignment with this level of complexity. The GS-7 level is for select, complex pharmacy technician positions, as established by each health care facility. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 27, 2021. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 12 April 2021, with subsequent cut-off dates every Monday. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Birmingham Salary Range: $43,800 to $56,942 One pharmacy procurement/customer service technician performs a high level of duties that consist of procurement and inventory management responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for requisitioning the required pharmaceutical and supplies from appropriate mandatory sources. Inventory responsibilities include the independent determination of stock levels for a highly complex pharmacy. Although this position is under the supervision of a pharmacist, incumbent will demonstrate independent technical judgment as well as comprehensive thorough working knowledge of pharmacy practice and procedures. One Controlled Substance/Automation Technician will be responsible Work Schedule: 8AM to 430PM with rotating shifts (The actual tour of duty will be established by the needs of the service line) Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
