Pharmacy technicians at this grade level may be assigned as a supervisor; lead technician in a particular area of the pharmacy; a controlled substance technician; an investigational drug technician; a procurement/inventory management technician; a clinical pharmacy technician; or similar assignment with this level of complexity. The GS-7 level is for select, complex pharmacy technician positions, as established by each health care facility. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 27, 2021. Birmingham Salary Range: $43,800 to $56,942 One pharmacy procurement/customer service technician performs a high level of duties that consist of procurement and inventory management responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for requisitioning the required pharmaceutical and supplies from appropriate mandatory sources. Inventory responsibilities include the independent determination of stock levels for a highly complex pharmacy. Although this position is under the supervision of a pharmacist, incumbent will demonstrate independent technical judgment as well as comprehensive thorough working knowledge of pharmacy practice and procedures.
