All duties are under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Provides technician support including preparing medications to be dispensed, medication stock maintenance, record keeping, and medication billing. In addition, oversees and coordinates training and compliance with USP chapter 795, 797, 800, and the TN Board of Pharmacy regulations and provides investigational and chemotherapy dose preparations.
High School/GED Required
Minimum Work Experience
One year experience as Institutional practice pharmacy technician, with clean room experience.
Previous chemotherapy and USP chapters 795, 797, 800 experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications for position
TN State Board of Pharmacy registration within the first 90 days of employment. Certification through an ACPE accredited Certification program (such as the PTCB National Certification Exam) preferred, successful completion of the PTCB within 12 months of employment required.
The Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) will be accepted

Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
