SUMMARY: This position works in a fast-paced, pediatric environment and is accountable for participating in medication order processing and safe handling of oral hazardous materials. Performs targeted technical duties related to preparation, packaging and labeling non-sterile drug products for specific patients with appropriate oversight by licensed personnel. Completes record keeping, distribution and clerical duties as assigned. Mentors and trains new staff members as required.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a High School Diploma or GED as well as the California Pharmacy Technician certification. Minimum one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Candidate must possess the demonstrated basic math knowledge relevant to Pharmacy Technician role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to be able to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Attention to detail and team oriented behaviors are also essential.
